2Co 5:16-17 From now on we regard no one from a worldly point of view. Though we once regarded Christ in this way, we do so no longer. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!
God’s not like Bob the Builder – “Mr Fix It”. He’s not out to find the faults we have and then fix them. You cannot be initimate with someone who is always pointing out your faults. Many marriages fail precisely because of this attitude – one partner trying to fix the other. In the end it just becomes too much. Sadly many believer have grown up thinking that this is exactly the kind of relationship God wants with us,- “Mr.Fix It”.
The Holy Spirit says that we have already been made you totally anew. We are a new creature, a new species, a new beings, as we have been included in, and joined with, Christ.
God saw the brokeness of mankind and His permanent and complete fix was the cross. The issue is no longer about us getting fixed but about us believing – renewing our thinking as to who we now are in Christ. As we realize our new identity; that we are new creations and our old self has passed away, so change takes place because as we believe so then we become. We will find that our circumstances, our emotions and our behavior gradually start to come into line with God’s truth and promises to us. Holy and righteous living comes about as we fix our eyes on Jesus and believe in what he has done for us on the cross.
